Our Protein Binding workflow enables protein designers to easily validate protein binders by characterizing their interaction to one or several protein targets of interest. The assay is designed to be flexible in terms of the number of proteins and the number of concentrations to accommodate a wide range of applications. Run in Screening Mode, to quickly test new binders using 2 concentrations, and in Full Affinity Characterization, we perform a more detailed and precise analysis of the binding to a target using 4 or more concentrations.
You can test pretty much any type of protein, from small peptides, miniproteins, natural ligands, VHHs, scFvs, or Fabs. We are expressing thousands of proteins every month and see expression success rates of over 90%. For information on how to design your proteins so that they express well, check out our guide here.
We can work with nearly any soluble protein target that is commercially available, or we can custom express proteins for you. Browse our target catalog for an overview of available targets. If you need a custom or proprietary target, we can help source and prepare the appropriate materials.
We've spent the last 2 years building the best binding data-generation pipeline with automated buffer optimization, non-specific binding detection, and custom fitting algorithms. You can trust us to get you the best data possible for your binding experiments.
Digitally upload your protein designs sequences on our secure platform
We design and order the DNA constructs and source and QC your target protein(s)
We design the DNA and express your proteins in our cell-free system
We run all the binding assays and measure the kinetic curves
We review the data, perform additional assays if needed, and release the results to you

Answer a few questions to get accurate pricing and timeline estimates for your project.
Do you mainly want to know if designs bind at all, or do you need precise kinetic constants?
I mainly want to know if designs bind at all (Yes/No). I understand the two-concentration assay yields curves but not accurate KDs across a wide range.
I want precise affinity characterization with kinetic curves from a two-concentration assay. I understand the fitted KDs are not accurate across a wide affinity range.
How should we source the target?
Pick a target from our library and we'll source it for you
